SUNDAY, NOV 16th 2014 PAAFF’14 Closing Night Film, “Brahmin Bulls” – An Indian American university professor plans a surprise visit to Los Angeles in search of an old flame, under the guise of mending the relationship with his estranged son played by Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder from NBC’s “Heroes”). This film offers a heartfelt and humorous exploration of the ever-evolving relationship between father and son, the women in their lives, and the powerful secrets they keep. SATURDAY, NOV 15th 2014 PAAFF’14 Centerpiece Film, “Farah Goes Bang” – During a cross- country road trip campaigning for John Kerry in the 2004 Election, a Persian American woman in her twenties attempts to lose her virginity. An interesting revisionist perspective on American life just one decade ago, this buddy-flick coming-of-age comedy confronts gender stereotypes, and what it means to be a woman of Middle Eastern descent in post-9/11 America.
